With the local elections looming (23 May) and candidate selection almost complete, Cyclist.ie sent out today its on-line survey questionnaire to all the party HQs and Directors of Elections seeking their cooperation in getting the link to each candidate and asking them to take the trouble to complete the survey.The survey hopes to influence candidate manifestos about daily cycling promotion policy in counties and local areas. The importance of the NCPF (2009) actions are made clear.

This exercise will be repeated for the EU Parliament candidates in a few weeks but with an emphasis on EU Transport and Environmental policies and the role that cycling has to play in mitigating transport emissions, etc.

Support for the EuroVelo system will also be sought.
